Description: In Search of Knowledge is a pastel drawing. It's a composite of a photograph mixed with memories of stories that my father told me of his desire to get an education. The photo was found among a stack that were stored in our family trunk that consisted of people in my community during the pre and post World War I days. Although the young man shown here is unknown, I thought the suit was appropriate for illustrating the story. The books and the apple were from my imagination.
